Given what is going on with Covid -19, I have made the decision unfortunately to cancel this year's 2020 Columbus Sand Soccer Festival. I truly have struggled with this decision, but at the end, I personally would not be able to feel good if we tried to have the event and someone contracts the virus. We are planning on having the event in 2021 and being able to make it even better than what we would have been able to do in 2020. Stay safe and hope to see everyone in 2021! ⚽️

I hope everyone and their families are doing ok during these unprecedented times. If your kids are like my kids, the excitement of school closing, has been replaced by boredom and wanting to do things with their friends.

As I was talking to my kids, my youngest son told me that the sand soccer should be free for everyone this year. This way kids can look forward to something to do and families would not need to pay to register. Since, I started this for my kids, I have decided to listen to my son’s advice and make this year’s sand soccer event FREE for teams to register. The website has already been changed over to allow teams to register free. The website is www.columbussandsoccer.com. This year’s event is July 18, 2020 with the 19th as a rain date. If we get a lot of teams that register, we will run both days.

Obviously, my first priority is the safety of everyone. We will follow whatever guidelines the government sets for events like ours even if that means cancelling the event.

Thank you to everyone who came out and played this Saturday. I know it was hot, but I hope the kids walked away having a fun time.

I have had a few people ask if anyone turned in some items. If by chance, as you are unpacking and you noticed something that might not be yours, would you please let me know so I can try to find out who it belongs to.

I will be setting up a shutter account in the next few days. When I do, I will email out the link and feel free to post your pictures to it. I always enjoy looking at the pictures people take. As always, if you have any suggestions on how to make the experience better, please let me know (other than weather. I can’t do anything about the weather ).

Last day to register your teams. If want to play but don't have a team, please let us know as we have a few teams looking for some more players. Also, we are looking for some a few adult teams that just want to have fun and play.

This is going to be only a one day event (Saturday, July 20th. Rain date is Sunday, July 21st.).

Unfortunately, we have to cancel the tournament that was scheduled for this weekend. We have gotten so much rain and more is projected. We are planning to host a one day tournament on Sunday, July 22nd. We will be updating the website and this page with all the new information.
