We opened The Upstairs at Ames FOUR years ago yesterday!

A lot has changed in 4 years, but honestly the event space has stayed much the same. It's still cozy and perfect for your shower or party.

Things have been HAPPENING in The Upstairs!

I’ve enjoyed slowly getting back into the swing of things with showers and other parties. But last weekend we had a full circle moment: Not only was The Upstairs the location for a WEDDING, but it was our very own ‘s wedding 🥰💕♥️.

Hi, I’m Katelyn 👋🏼

You might know me from Ames Mercantile, or you might be brand new here. Either way I’m so glad you’re here ♥️.

I had the idea to start a home decor boutique and event space venue probably in 2019. For me, it started with a super cool empty old building and I wondered how I could breathe new life into it. That’s one of my favorite things— seeing the potential in something, respecting its
history, and putting my stamp on it. In 2020 my business plan was already in place but then I found this space and I KNEW this must be the place.

Over the last year a lot has changed for me, but one thing has been consistent— my love for community and connection. I started to realize that I couldn’t do it myself, though. So when Komal reached out about helping coordinate events I saw a way to not have to give up on my dreams.

I’m so excited about this partnership, I feel revitalized, I feel hope in getting a chance to do the things I’ve been wanting to do— for all of you and for the Columbus community.

I’m so glad you’re all here, and I can’t wait to help you feel the connection and love we hope to bring to you in this space 🤗
