Rhizophora dir. Julia Metzer-Traber and Davide De Lillis (Video, 16:23min, Vietnam, 2015)
Film Description: Dancing between waking and dreaming, a day seen through the eyes of eleven young residents of the Friendship Village in Vietnam who are living with disabilities caused by Agent Orange.

Meet Rachel Waid!

Rachel is a 4th year Dance major with a minor in Video Arts.

She is particularly interested in the fusion between technology, dance and music, and the ways that they create visuals that evoke both satisfaction and engagement. Her film studies at OSU have greatly supported her knowledge of the ways that film can elevate and uplift movement.

Part 6 of our curation team!

Arie is a 4th year Dance BFA with a minor in Video Arts. She has taken numerous film and editing classes throughout college that have allowed her to truly explore her artistic voice through the camera. Curator 5: Kiki Williams!

Kiki is a 2nd year Dance MFA. She has always loved film and first had the opportunity to create a dance film during the pandemic in 2020. This first foray into the medium was ultimately chosen to go to ACDA and the Mobile Dance Film Festival as a featured film! Kiki is currently taking film classes in order to further explore how movement can live on film.

Cai is a 4th year Dance BFA with a double major in Strategic Communications.

Cai has recently integrated dance film into her degree as a focus and is currently studying under Momar Ndiaye. She is particularly interested in the compositional possibilities of capturing movement on film.
