As we shared with our Runaway Runway design family this morning, for 2018 and perhaps beyond, the Columbia Design League is going to investigate alternative fundraiser options to replace the Runaway Runway recycled fashion show. As much as we have all loved a decade of Runaway Runway, as the Columbia Design League celebrates our twentieth anniversary, our board has decided it is time to refocus our energy on our central mission of producing design-focused programs for our more than 200 members. The planning, production and promotion of the fundraiser often eclipses our work to produce programs that are central to our mission as an affiliate group of the Columbia Museum of Art. If you were already planning an entry for next year’s show, we’re happy to connect you with other recycled design shows in the area and region so you can still strut your junk!
