“I am not a film critic, but in my opinion, no one frames the face the way Bergman does; no one frames nature the way he does” —Bill Bondeson (March 16, 2025). Bill wouldn’t call himself a film critic, but we think he was a great one. He was proof of the richness of ideas, questions, and stories that films bring to a room. We didn’t know that The Seventh Seal would be the last Ragtag Rewind programmed by Bill, and we certainly didn’t know that 2026 would be his last True/False, but his spirit lives and today we celebrate him and the light he brought into every space with his knowledge, varied interests, and humor.

Bill Bondeson and Linda Butterfield-Cupp have supported our organization in every possible way; donations, attendance, matching grants, gatherings, loyalty, friendship… Bill’s care for the legacy and longevity of Ragtag Film Society was such that he founded the Legacy Fund and continued to fundraise with Linda and us for years. His legacy will always carry on at Ragtag and we are honored that this was such a special place for him.

Thank you for celebrating a weekend of art, music, and filmmaking with us— filled with powerful world premieres, captivating performances, and moments that brought our creative community together. Here’s a look at some of the moments you may have missed.

💛 There are only 7 days left to give to our 2026 True Life Fund recipients: How To Clean A House In 10 Easy Steps. In this year’s selection, viewers witnessed fictional elements, animation, and even a musical number within a documentary in which director Carolina González Valencia pays tribute to her mother Beatriz, who migrated to the U.S. to work and provide for her family from abroad.⁠

The fund will benefit the lives of six subjects who collaborated and shared their lives for eight years until the film’s completion. Each of these participants has different needs and projects ahead of them, some of which involve attending law school and aspiring to become an immigration attorney, recent health emergencies, family losses, and being a single mother who provides for her children and extended family. Beatriz, Leonor, Gina, Alba, David, and Gleidy gifted us their story through Carolina’s vision and artistry, and this is our way to pay back.
