We are so grateful for the number of new followers who have joined us in the last few months. We are going to post the information below again because we have had a few people ask why October 31 was selected this year.

While we have received a lot of excited comments about the date for the upcoming Columbia Korean Festival, we have also received a few questions about why we picked October 31.

This will be the second time that we have held the Festival on October 31...the first time brought a great turnout and allowed us to incorporate costumes and other fun seasonal activities.

We have to look a multitude of factors when making a decision on the date. Other events going on the same day plays a factor. In this case there is a USC home football game with a big SEC rival on October 24 that we expect to greatly increase traffic downtown, making that day a challenge. Another factor is Daylight Savings Time. This year Daylight Savings Time falls on November 1, making November 7 a very difficult date for us to hold the event with less sunshine to work with.

We have seen a few disappointed comments and the intent was definitely NOT to make it more difficult to attend for anyone. We hope to see as many people as possible and the event will be over early enough to plan other Halloween activities.

Vendor Update May 21:
The guidance for interested vendors remains to contact us at sckoreanfestival@gmail. com. If you have already emailed, no other action is needed, we will coordinate you with the application contact soon.

There is no other way to be a vendor. We have already had scammers send fake posts about being a vendor. When these users are discovered, their posts are deleted and they are banned. We are vigilant about this as these scammers will seek financial information.

If it is not from us, either our Facebook or our gmail, it is not legitimate.
