🎃We went on a pumpkin hunt in the patch to see if we could find some hiding under the leaf canopy. We found several this size and many more in early stages of growth! The simplest things bring the most fulfillment to the heart! 🎃

🙌To God be the Glory and a very special appreciation for the Candler County School System, Mr. Ben G. Bowen, and Senator Mr. Billy Hickman for making this award possible for teachers! Our family has surely been blessed today and we are grateful for it!

🏆 Congratulations to Candler County Schools’ District Teacher of the Year, Mr. Blake Jeffers! 🏆

Candler County School District is proud to announce Mr. Blake Jeffers, a teacher at Metter High School/Metter College & Career Academy, as the 2026 District Teacher of the Year!

As District Teacher of the Year, Mr. Jeffers received an incredible $12,000 award from Mr. Ben G. Bowen, MHS Class of 1964. He will also have the honor of representing Candler County Schools as he advances to compete for Georgia Teacher of the Year.

We also proudly recognize our two outstanding finalists: Mrs. Beth Phillips, Metter Elementary School Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Haley Todd, Metter Middle School Teacher of the Year. Each received a generous $3,000 award from Senator Bill and Mrs. JoAnn Hickman and will proudly represent their respective schools throughout the year.

We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Bowen and Senator and Mrs. Hickman for their generous support of our educators and their continued investment in excellence in Candler County Schools.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Jeffers, Mrs. Phillips, and Mrs. Todd on this well-deserved recognition! Their dedication to our students and schools is a wonderful example of what it means to be Tiger Proud!

We’re getting everything ready for an unforgettable fall season at Rock Hill Barn, and we can’t wait to welcome you back!

The barn is a private event venue where guests are able to book the space for the day and enjoy the farm with their closest guests. Private events include birthdays, family reunions, church gatherings, business meetings, field trips, and more!

🎃Each stage of pumpkin growing reminds me of awaiting each stage of an expected baby! 👼We have now reached the female flowering stage! This stage is where you can finally see pumpkins growing! The o***y below the female flower begins to swell into a big pumpkin in just a few weeks!

Taking a deeper view of the pumpkin plants and seeing the intricacies of what’s happening underneath to empower the plant to grow…..One can’t help but think of our Creator and scriptures of his love and support of our earthly existence. The tendrils (the curly anchors) remind of how Christ is our source and strength, a strong foundation we can anchor ourselves to & allow our roots to intertwine with!! ❤️ His creation proves his majesty and strong hand.

🎃Look at our first male flower bloom!! We didn’t expect to see these blooms today! In another week or so, the female flowers will bloom and soon after we see the final stage begin to start…fruit production!

The pumpkin patch is in the vining stage! The vines start spreading across the rows and attach themselves to the ground using their tendrils for support. It’s always so cool to watch this happen bc within one day the vines can grow several inches! It’s pretty spectacular!
