Cohasset’s Rotary Club and annual Road Race by the Sea are deeply saddened by the passing of our 50-year Rotarian and bedrock of the Cohasset community, Wayne Sawchuk.

As was repeatedly mentioned this weekend at an overflowing Congregational church memorial, Wayne encapsulated the essence of generosity, good humor and goodwill.

From traveling abroad to bring clean water to villages in the Dominican, to being the quiet force behind the annual road race and improving the infrastructure of the town he loved, we will forever embrace and hold near to our hearts this humble, good-natured and selfless gentle giant of a man.

Rest in peace our dear friend. Our lives and the Town of Cohasset were blessed to walk alongside you.

🚧 Sunday Traffic / Parking / Road Closures🚧

Our volunteers are committed to minimizing the impact of the race on the residents, churches and businesses and we have been working closely with public safety on race planning to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for participants and the community.

The Rotary will be putting out no parking signs throughout the course roads early on Sunday morning, although parking will not be restricted on North Main until 12:30 pm in advance of the start of the race at 1 p.m.
