OPENING CEREMONY - Honoring Our Veterans

Ribs & Rods Festival opened in 2026 with a very special moment honoring two of our very own - Councilmen Samuel McCollum & Pearlie Thomas. Both having served in our United States armed forces & both serving many years on our Town of Clio Council. In Recognition, We had the distinguished honor of having Congressman Russell Fry join us to present our Councilmen with American Flags that previously flew over our United States Capitol. He spoke about America’s 250th Anniversary and how small towns with heart like Clio have helped shaped our great nation. We also enjoyed a beautiful National Anthem by Olivia Emanuel. What a great way to start one of the best festivals in the Carolina’s!
