A word of caution...It is unfortunate that we must make this announcement, but we don't want anyone to be taken advantage of, hence this alert...It has come to our attention that multiple scammers are offering Apple 'n Pork Festival Flea Market spaces. As fast as we report and delete them, twice as many appear on our event page, our festival page, and other pages and forums. The impostors ask you to contact them via Facebook to apply (we do not answer vendor inquiries or accept vendor applications via Facebook messaging), and they accept payment via Venmo, Paypal, or checks via a post office box (we only accept check or money order sent to the museum's postal mailing address or credit card via the C.H. Moore Homestead & DeWitt County Museum). We are told this has become an issue for many other events such as ours. I once spoke with a vendor who thought she secured a booth at an event such as ours. She paid for her booth, paid for a hotel room, and drove many miles to reach the event only to discover she had been the victim of a scam. We don't want such misfortune and loss to fall upon any of you. This is why our posts state that we do not answer vendor inquiries via Facebook and ask that you contact us directly at 217-935-6066. 🍎
