The "Friends of Clifftop" page on Facebook is designed to create a virtual gathering place for those who enjoy being a part of the community of musicians and friends who gather for a week each summer in Clifftop WV for the Appalachian String Band Music Festival, hosted by the fabulous staff at the Division of Culture & History. Like the round-the-clock campsite jam sessions that take place during
the Festival, the Friends of Clifftop Page will be shaped by those who participate. The Page can serve as a place for Clifftop participants not only to share information, experiences, and impressions, but also to mobilize efforts to improve and enrich the Festival. Ideally, this Page can chronicle the millions of amazing moments shared over the years at Clifftop. Please share your stories, photographs, and videos so they are preserved for posterity. The Friends of Clifftop Page on Facebook was founded and is administered by Will Carter, who initially designed and pitched the concept of "Clifftop" to the West Virginia Division of Culture and History in 1989 and was actively involved in the management and implementation of the Festival during its first decade. Though the Page has no affiliation with the Division, it hopes to be a resource to help the Commissioner and staff who have done such a great job managing the Festival's success over the years.
