When our community supports Pig on the Pond through tickets, sponsorships and donations, it creates opportunities for students like Amari to pursue their dreams and build brighter futures.
Here is what Amari shared about the difference that support has made in her life:
“My name is Amari Graham, and I was one of the recipients of the 2022 Project Scholars/Pig on the Pond scholarship. When I received the scholarship, my family and I were filled with so much joy and pride.
For my parents and me, this scholarship meant that none of us would have to take out loans for me to attend college. The scholarship provided financial support toward my classes, housing and meal plans.
I attended the University of South Florida and pursued a bachelor’s degree in psychology, which led me to my current pursuit of my master’s degree—and eventually my specialist degree—in school psychology at Barry University.
The support of Project Scholars meant, and still means, everything to me. Meeting and talking with Project Scholars members and additional Pig on the Pond volunteers has created a deep sense of gratitude. It feels like I have another family supporting me in my academic endeavors.
To everyone who helps make this scholarship possible, I would like to say thank you. Your efforts have made a significant difference in my life. I’m incredibly grateful to have earned my bachelor’s degree without going into debt, and it is all thanks to you.
Project Scholars has invested in and continues to change the lives of hardworking students, and I’m very proud to say that I am one of those students.”
