WSHP is grateful to be included in this important community safety initiative. Having an AED permanently located at the Horse Park is a meaningful addition for our visitors, competitors, volunteers, and event organizers.

Thank you to the City of Cle Elum and the Heartsafe Community Committee for helping make our community safer for everyone.

A bear has been seen on and around the Horse Park property over the last couple of days. We did not get close enough to know if it was male or female, and that is exactly the point. The bear appears to be minding its own business, and we want to keep it that way.

Part of what makes the Horse Park so special is its natural beauty and the abundance of wildlife. Nature loves it here, too.

While visiting the park, please be mindful of your surroundings. Keep pets leashed at all times, dispose of garbage promptly in the cans provided, and avoid leaving any food or trash out where it could attract wildlife.

Our goal is to keep everyone safe, including horses, humans, dogs, and the bear.

Thank you for helping us protect this special place.

This week, we are excited to welcome one of our biggest events of the year, the Equestrians Institute Horse Trials!

EIHT is a three-day eventing competition featuring dressage, stadium jumping, and cross-country, and we are looking forward to a wonderful weekend with the EIHT crew, competitors, horses, and volunteers.

Because our campus will be at capacity with horses, trailers, vehicles, and event traffic, the Horse Park will be closed to all outside horses and recreational users during this event.

Spectators are welcome, and this is a wonderful opportunity to watch an exciting eventing competition here at the Park. If you plan to attend, please pay close attention to posted no-parking signs so we can keep the campus safe and accessible for everyone. If signs are posted directing vehicles to powerline parking, please park there to help us avoid parking congestion and keep traffic flowing smoothly.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to a safe, successful, and exciting weekend with the Equestrians Institute Horse Trials!

Today, we pause to remember those who gave everything in service to our country.

At the Washington State Horse Park, Memorial Day also reminds us of the deep and lasting bond between horses and those who have served. Throughout American history, horses have carried soldiers into battle, pulled supplies across difficult ground, stood beside them in hardship, and helped bring them home.

Their courage is part of our nation’s story, woven together with the sacrifice of the men and women who fought, and those who continue to fight, to protect the freedoms we hold dear.

This Memorial Day, we honor our heroes, both two-legged and four-legged, and remember the cost of freedom.

What a great opportunity!
