Uptown Event Center/PWA Personal and community events posted that will be held at the Uptown Event Center. We are open 7 days a week for events. We also take down and clean up.

The Uptown Event Center is the perfect place to have your birthday parties, baby showers, graduations, elimination dinners, meetings, plays, school fundraisers, weddings and much much more. Rentals are $50 hourly and $10 hourly for the kitchen. We set-up the room they way that you want it and all you have to do is decorate. We also have a commercial kitchen. And WIFI connected !! essive Women's Association was formed and is housed in the Uptown Event Center (formerly YWCA) at 305 Washington Ave. Clarksburg, WV .Their mission statement is "A movement providing opportunities to empower women in their personal advancement that will enble them to impact their community." The PWA along with the Uptown Event Center is involved with many civic programs. We operate and maintain a food pantry and pet pantry. Today, members of the Progressive Women's Association joined with several local organizations to deliver holiday Christmas baskets to outpatient cancer patients at United Hospital Center.

This annual tradition helps ensure patients can enjoy a full holiday meal with their families while feeling supported by their community. It’s great to see people come together to lift each other up during the holidays. 🎄🎅

Join Us for Adult Sign Language Classes!
The Progressive Women’s Association is excited to announce a new opportunity for our community. We will be offering free adult sign language classes, held once a week on Wednesdays at noon, starting September 11th through October 16th.
Details:
• Dates: Wednesdays, September 11th to October 16th
• Time: Noon (lunch will be served)
• Location: Uptown Event Center, 305 Washington Ave.
• Instructor: Janel St. Martin
Whether you're a beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this course is open to all adults interested in learning sign language. Janel St. Martin, an experienced instructor, will guide participants through the fundamentals of sign language in a supportive and engaging environment.

Hi Clarksburg,
I would just like to thank everyone that came out to support First Friday. It seemed that all that wondered off the "beaten path" and came a block over to Washington Avenue to the PWA had a great time. The entertainment at the Uptown Event Center/PWA was superb ....great sound...great people..The Fridley Brothers...they were awesome. If you missed the activities at First Friday you certainly missed a lot. The Library was there giving away book bags and school supplies. Thank you, what a blessing to watch the faces of the kids pick their book bags out. ❤️ and thank you to all that helped the PWA concession be a success. Again, thank you to one and all for supporting First Friday and the PWA !!
