Welcome to the page for The Hoinke Classic Bowling Group for the Bluefield, WV area. My father, Benny Coeburn has been organizing for decades a bowling trip for bowlers from our area to participate in the Hoinke Classic in Cincinnati Ohio. I wanted to help him in organizing a page that will have the details of the event to help keep current and hopefully new bowlers informed about all the information with the tournament.
According to their website, The Hoinke Classic is an amateur handicap bowling tournament that offers singles, doubles and team events for bowlers of all averages. Handicap is based on 95% of 220.
This year will be the 81st Annual event. The 2024 Hoinke Classic will start on March 9 and run through November 24, 2024. Entry fees for the 2024 Hoinke Classic will be:
Singles $62.00 per person
Doubles $43.00 per person
Teams $43.00 per person
All Events $18.00 per person (optional)
For those that are interested in going with our group, we will bowling the weekend of October 26th and 27th. This year we will be bowling at the following times:
Team: Saturday October 26, 2024 9 am
Doubles: Saturday October 26, 2024 1:30 pm
Singles: Sunday October 27, 2024 9 am
Entry fee is $148 which must be submitted by September 15 to us. We will take care of getting everybody signed up. Bowlers must have at least 42 games in a USBC league in at least 2 of 4 year window from the 2020-2021 season thru the 2023-2024 season.
Last year prizes paid out the following:
Singles 1st place- $19,000 all the way to 888th place-$33
Doubles 1st place- $15,400 all the way to 530th place- $44
Team 1st place- $21,500 all the way to 167th place- $118.
There are also many other prize pool that includes women, seniors, scratch etc. The bowling alley also has scratch and handicap brackets that are $5/bracket.
If there is anybody that is interested or would like more information, please feel free to send me a message. If you have a partner and/or team that you would like to bowl with, we will do our best to accommodate you to give you the best experience. If you want to bowl but do have a partner, please let me know. I will make sure that you have a doubles partner and team to bowl with.
