Over the past few days I have recieved some unsavory messages in regards to the Detroit Miss Autorama 2026 contest. Mostly accusations of the judging being unfairly influenced by an audience member.
I'm aware that every single year one group or another tries their best to sway the contest results. I try my hardest to avoid this but unfortunately it's not a perfect system.
I do believe the winners absolutely deserved to win. Regardless of any perceived influence. But I do understand the concern.
So, going forward, I will only be working with a small group of people that I will reach out to.
If anyone registering for the contest or wishing to be a sponsor is contacted by anyone other than myself, please know it is for their personal benefit.
It's not to help facilitate a great contest for all involved.
I am a very direct and open to ideas but at the end of the day it's the Miss Autorama Pin Up Contest. Not the "Nikki Forte" show, not the (insert group here) show. My role is to make sure the contest runs smoothly and efficiently in the time alotted. It's a contest for fun and entertainment. It's not a necessity to the convention as a whole and can be removed at any time (as it has been in other cities over the years due to back end drama).
