Fighting Field and Tournament Policies
Fighting Field Book of War Changes (posted 30 days in advance)
In accordance with article 15.2.3.2. Of the BMCS bylaws, Battle for the Ring reports that we will be using the following rules changes from the BMCS Book of War:
5.5. Forbidden items: 5.5.7. Cleats and spikes.
Non-metal cleats are allowed on a case by case basis for medical need. If given permission to use them by the head marshal, that individual is not permitted to shield kick. Plastic cleats or turf shoes must be approved for safety on a case by case basis, and can still be rejected if the nub or cleat is sharp, appear to have the potential to cause injury, or projects more than 0.5."
1.0. Each individual is expected to treat each other with respect and participate in fair play with safety and sportsmanship in mind. Actual violence, threats of actual violence, cheating, and arguing with marshals or other combatants disrespectfully are just a few examples of unacceptable behavior and are not allowed.
With this rule in mind, we reserve the right to require everyone on the field to wear masks and keep their nose and mouth covered at all times if the Marshal determines the situation warrants it for safety reasons. This decision will be made at the time of the event due to current conditions and signs will be posted. We understand masks may get lower or fall during combat, but will ask participants to pull them back up at the start of combat for each round or at a time that doesn’t interfere with their current fight.
While we do not anticipate that this policy will be necessary at the time the event is held, we must reserve the right to using this policy if the situation changes. This decision will be made at the time of the event due to current county, state, and federal policies. If this rule is necessary, signs will be posted.
