Heather Lawhorn and I just wanted to take a minute and congratulate our good friend Dorina Vaccaroni for jist completing and setting the new female record for the 1,000 mile No Country for Old Men at 85hrs 16 minutes . Also congratulations to our friend Valerio Zamboni who is 70+ and conquered the race.
Side note I am finally going to NCOM next year to take on Dex Tooke & Scott Anderson race. This year was out for the 3/6 reunion. Buuutttttt Jason Lundberg Justin White Ray McGrady ANY OTHERS WANT TO JOIN THE TEAM🤠, the current male record is held by a Brit. I say we try and put a 🇺🇸 beside it.

BIO:
Joe Lawhorn is a retired United States Marine and accomplished ultra-endurance cyclist from Ohio. After sustaining injuries during three deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq, Joe turned to cycling as part of his physical and mental recovery. What began as therapy soon developed into an extraordinary ultracycling career.

A four-time 24-hour World Time Trial champion, Joe has established nine World UltraCycling Association records. His accomplishments include riding 415.2 miles on a fixed-gear bicycle in 24 hours and setting a 24-hour velodrome record of 431 miles in 2021.

Look who's coming to the WUCA World 24-12-6-hr TT Championship on Nov 14, in Sebring, FL.

Joe completed the 3,000-mile solo Race Across America in 2018. He later finished Race Across the East in 2024 and Race Across the West in 2025, becoming one of the first cyclists to earn the prestigious RAAM Triple Crown.

Joe’s remarkable journey reflects the resilience, discipline and determination of both a Marine and a world-class ultracyclist.

This Saturday, we want to give a HUGE shoutout and thank you to Byron Gearhart for opening up Gearhart Farms to us year after year and allowing it to serve as the home of the Midwest Time Trial Championships! 🏁

An event like ours simply couldn’t happen without people who believe in what we’re doing and are willing to support the cycling community in such a big way. Byron’s generosity gives our riders a place to push their limits for 6, 12, and 24 hours, chase personal goals, make memories, and become part of our MWTT family.

We are incredibly grateful for Byron for welcoming us back each year and helping make this event possible. Thank you, Byron, for sharing your farm with a whole bunch of crazy cyclists who voluntarily ride in circles for hours! 😂🚴‍♂️

🚴‍♀️⏱️FUN FACT FRIDAY — CHILLICOTHE CYCLING EDITION! 🚴‍♂️

Did you know Chillicothe, Ohio has been welcoming endurance cyclists for more than 60 years?

Chillicothe is a major part of TOSRV — the Tour of the Scioto River Valley, a cycling tradition that began in 1962 and has grown into one of the longest-running bicycle tours in the country!

But the area’s cycling roots go back even further.

A history of Chillicothe published in 1902 reported that the city already had three businesses devoted exclusively to selling bicycles, with additional businesses supplying and repairing them. Apparently, Chillicothe loved bikes long before carbon frames, aero helmets and power meters were a thing! 😮🚲

Today, that cycling tradition continues with miles of riding opportunities, including the 32-mile Paint Creek Recreational Trail, which connects Chillicothe with Washington Court House largely along an abandoned B&O Railroad corridor.

And each summer, we get to add another chapter to Chillicothe’s endurance cycling story with the Midwest Time Trial Championship!
