Hello Athletes: We are excited to see everyone at or first Annual “Worth A Tri” beginner Triathlon! Please review the following Race Day information.

Arrival / Parking – Please arrive prior to 7:30am when registration opens. Please park in the Y parking lot. Registration will be outside by the pool entrance/exit. After Registering you may take your bikes to the Middle school parking lot to the run/bike transition point.

Swim – The swim section this year will be in the Y pool. We will have each racer swim there and back in all 4 lanes starting with the lane furthest from the pool exit door. After the previous swimmer finishes their first lap we will start the next racer. After the final lap you will exit the pool and find your shoes just outside the pool area at the pool/run transition area.

Run – The run will begin by going across the Y parking lot to the bridge over the lake. When you get to the road take a right, and begin the loop of the park. Please run on the left side of the road and use caution when crossing intersections as cars may be on the road. You will go through the Paint Street entrance past the tennis courts, then take a left at the dead end. You will go past the Pump house and around the corner past the city pool up to the middle school parking lot to the run/bike transition area.

Bike – All racers must wear helmets. The bike portion will begin and end on the Chillicothe High School/Middle school service road. Please stay to the RIGHT side of the road and use caution as racers may be finishing while others are starting out. At the end of the service road the riders going out should use the sidewalk for a short time to get to the High School parking lot and then stay to the right of the entrance island. To get onto the bike path use caution and switch gears to go up a short embankment across the Annex Access road and turn left onto the bike path toward the High School Baseball field. Please stay to the right side on the bike path, use caution while let riders know when passing, and remember some racers may be coming from the other way. The bike portion will continue to the bridge over High Street past the Orange street access to the turnaround just past the Adena Road Underpass. Please turnaround to the LEFT and use the grass if needed. Use Extreme Caution and stay to the Right side at the Underpass. On your way back you will turn off the bike path just after the Treeline go through the grass for a short bit then take a SHARP left onto the service road. You will turn right into the High School Parking lot just past the baseball field and stay to the right as you go out to Yocktangy Road. The riders coming back may use the parking lanes on Yocktangy Road for a short bit before entering the service road. Then it’s a sprint to the finish line which will be at the American Flag.
I hope you find these instructions helpful. Should you have questions, please let us know. Good Luck and have a fun race!!

We are grateful to the YMCA of Ross County for accommodating the swimming portion of our triathlon due to the unexpected closure of the city pool.
