An update on the 2025 Chico Stage Race:
Greetings,
We are writing to let you know that the Chico Stage Race organizing committee has made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the 2025 Chico Stage Race. As you know, organizing a bike race in today's climate is a tough challenge which entails a huge amount of labor and a significant financial risk. The committee set a registration goal for Feb 15, before most of the non-refundable expenses would be due for payment. Unfortunately, we did not even come close to 30% of this registration goal.
At 6 weeks out from the event date, we recognize that more people would likely register, but with each day that passes, we would also be incurring more expenses. At the same time, we also want to give you as big a window as possible to change your plans, rather than wait till the last minute.
We REALLY appreciate your committing to the Chico Stage Race, and supporting us with your registration. If you have registered, we will be initiating the refund process through BikeReg immediately, and you should hear from BikeReg about your refund, in the next couple of days.
