FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The Silver Dollar Fair Livestock Show Returns to Memorial Weekend!

After two years of holding the livestock show separately from the annual Silver Dollar Fair, 3rd District Agricultural Association Board of Directors, has voted to reunite the livestock show with the annual Fair schedule, Memorial Weekend.

The decision marks an exciting return to the traditional format of the annual Silver Dollar Fair, bringing the Fair’s agricultural exhibits, livestock shows, entertainment, and community activities together at the Fairgrounds May 27-31, 2027.

“We’re excited to bring the livestock show to our traditional schedule and reunite it with the Fair,” said Jeremi deOSio, CEO of the Silver Dollar Fair. “Our livestock exhibitors and agricultural community are an important part of who we are. Having the livestock show scheduled during the annual Fair creates an opportunity for our community to experience everything the Silver Dollar Fair has to offer in one place and at one time.”

🚧 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧

We’re now a little over a month into construction, and the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds are already looking a whole lot different!

A lot has happened in just a few short weeks. Demolition and site clearing have made way for the next phase of the Resiliency Center Project, and crews have been busy grading and preparing the site for the future foundation. We are currently waiting on soil testing results before that portion of the work can move forward.

It’s exciting to see the progress happening right in front of us. What started as plans on paper is quickly becoming a reality, and each week brings us another step closer to the new Resiliency Center and everything it will bring to the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds and our community.

📸 Check out these photos showing where we started just over a month ago compared to where we are today.

There is still a lot of work ahead, but things are moving right along. We’ll continue to keep the community updated as we reach new milestones and throughout the construction process.

Stay tuned, there’s a lot more to come! 🎡

Silver Dollar Fairgrounds Breaks Ground on New Community Resiliency Center

CHICO, Calif. — The Silver Dollar Fairgrounds has reached a historic milestone with the official groundbreaking of its new Community Resiliency Center on August 5. After nearly five years of planning, design, and collaboration with state partners, demolition and site work are now underway, marking the beginning of one of the most significant capital improvement projects in the fairgrounds' history.

The approximately 40,000-square-foot facility will serve as both a year-round community asset and a critical emergency response center for Butte County and the surrounding region.
