Why the name “Camping on Mars?” The idea for Camping on Mars (COM) came about as we thought of a way to begin a new cultural movement with music as its foundation. We thought of a place where anyone could go to be whom they wanted, listen to a universal language (music), where there was peace, no conflict, a place of fantasy and escape, where individuals could strive to rally for one common purpose – to enjoy the organic experience and celebration of music. What better place to do all of these things than on Mars? If anyone and everyone could be on Mars, on an even playing field – a place with no prior culture or existence, everyone exploring and coming together to survive in a new space. Mars is a place of current social intrigue, yet definitely a place where no one current exists and a place to escape. To share the experience with as many people in person as possible, we wanted the experience to be nomadic, not only available in one location. One way to trek about the nation is by camping out. This organic musical experience would be so out of this world it could mentally transport an individual to another world like Mars. Imagine an electrifying campground on Mars with limitless possibilities. Camping on Mars plans to tour around the country and the world, allowing communities to see live performances, and those who cannot be there in person, can witness the experience virtually. Inspired by art and music legends, Camping on Mars is an out of this world experience that allows one to explore the celebration of all earthly entertainment.
