originally got her start as one half of the beloved duo , achieving international renown with widespread acclaim, award nominations, major collaborations, and massive tours, but it wasn’t until later that she stepped truly into her power with her debut album Renaissance in 2020 via Mad Decent. Co-produced by Aluna alongside executive producer Lido, and featuring contributions from Princess Nokia, Jada Kingdom, SG Lewis, KAYTRANADA, Scott Storch, GRADES, Mr. Carmack and Rema, Renaissance represented the culmination of her journey of “a black girl in an all-white British suburb back in the day” to launching a rule-breaking revolution where rigid boundaries dissolve between culture, race, gender, and genre.

The Black Girl Magic drag concert is an event created by The Vixen where black culture is celebrated through the art of drag. For the past 9 years audiences have gathered into nightclubs, marched into festivals and logged onto streaming services to show appreciation for the many ways that The Black Femme has shaped and shifted culture. In a show where performers aren’t expected to fulfill tokenizing tropes they are able to explore their individuality in new and exciting ways. Unlike any other drag show the performers arrive knowing they will be praised for reasons they often feel ignored. Sisterhood, community and fellowship are on full display as hosts shower each performer with admiration. The goal of the show is to normalize acknowledging, celebrating and paying black people for all the joy they bring to the world.

Cobra B is a Chicago-born, St. Louis-raised open format DJ who mixes music rooted in the Black diaspora. From the soul and rock her mom played while cooking, to the Zambian braai parties she went to as a kid, and European raves while studying in Ireland, she pulls from her unique experiences to create boundary-pushing mixes. She mostly plays in the Midwest but travels on occasion, recently making her international debut at Bella Afrikana Beach Club in Accra, Ghana.

Chicago Footwork is an underground dance form that was inspired by house music that started in 1982. Over the last 30 years it has went from ghetto house to juke to footwork tracks that are played at 160 BPM. As the music has changed the movements have evolved and footwork battle cliques was formed. Creation Global is a Chicago Footwork crew that formed in Chicago. Started in the streets of Chicago battling … Creation grew to perform , teach , & inspire dancers all over the world. Creation/Footworkingz is the first Chicago Footwork crews to earn global recognition from Chicago with members King Charles, Christopher Maddog Thomas, Wesley “ Wes “ Stewart, Pause Eddie, & Donnetta Lil Bit Jackson & so many more. Always remembering their roots, they constantly give back to the community by training dancers through the company Creation. Pause & others has also donated their time to different local programs such as After School Matters, as well as teaching at low income/project areas to help encourage the youth to better their lives. Creation’s unwavering drive to keep pushing art is motivated by their peers, friends and family, and the tragic death of their brother Kendall. Through all the sacrifice and struggle we hope to show that with drive and positive energy forever.
