This session’s 9 artists have created installations, performances, and participatory experiences throughout the house. Some works from the last session remain. Together, they invite you into a cyclical passage between the Underworld and the Upperworld—a descent and an emergence into transformation and new possibilities.

Rather than retelling the myth directly, the artists use it to explore ecological crisis, extraction, grief, care, release, and collective transformation. Developed during extreme heat, wildfire smoke, flooding, and sudden weather shifts, the project reflects on forces shaping our present and future.

Through installation, sound, movement, and performance, this collective work invites you to reflect on questions that shape our existence: Who are we? What do we value? How do we respond to and can we transform given change and loss? What responsibilities do we hold toward one another and the world we inhabit? And how can we imagine and create new possibilities for the future by working together?

Like participants in the ancient Eleusinian Mysteries, you enter without knowing exactly what you will encounter, embarking on a journey whose meaning unfolds through experience.

Session Two of Persephone: Extraction & Metamorphosis features the following artists: Lise Haller Baggesen ( Lise B ), Kierah/KIKI King ( kiki king ), Bobbi and Steve Meier, Eileen O’Halloran, ( Eileen O'Halloran ), Monika Plioplyte ( Monika Plioplyte ), and Charles Krampah ( Bezalel ), William Raynovich ( William Jason Raynovich ), and Adriana Vignoli ( Adriana Vignoli ).
