Thank you runners and volunteers for making the 2024 Fall Chicago Lakefront 50/50 another huge success! One of the ways we are trying to be GREEN and help the environment is to collect used running shoes to keep them out of landfills. A number of runners brought their old running shoes, we collected 14 pairs, and shipped them off to GotSneakers: https://gotsneakers.com/
These shoes will be reused and/or repurposed and will not be thrown away. You can start your own collection by going to the website and getting a free postage paid FedEx bag to ship your athletic shoes to them - no need to wait for the next Chicago Lakefront Ultra race! Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the next race.

Request a Sneaker Recycling Kit from GotSneakers and send in your unwanted sneakers to be responsibly reused or recycled.

Chicago Lakefront 50/50 is going CUPLESS! HydraPak is our new Cupless Racing Partner and is providing FREE SpeedCups to all runners. HydraPak is committed to helping reduce waste generated at running events and this is one of the ways they are helping out.
