Your Local Tax Dollars at Work! 👮

What do your local taxes support?

In Wyoming, police officers help keep communities safe through 24/7 emergency response, community policing, traffic safety, and criminal investigations.

The General Fund, supported by sales and property tax, helps local governments provide the vehicles, equipment, training and personnel needed to support effective law enforcement services.

These investments help ensure officers are prepared to respond when residents need assistance and can continue protecting Wyoming communities every day.

Your Local Tax Dollars at Work! 💧

What does it take to provide safe drinking water?

In Wyoming, clean and reliable water doesn't happen by accident. Small water systems must cover the costs of water testing, treatment, infrastructure, operations and regulatory requirements.

Municipal governing bodies are responsible for ensuring their water systems meet applicable requirements, and when enterprise-fund revenues or reserves are insufficient, particularly in an emergency, General Fund dollars may be needed to keep the system compliant and operating safely.

These critical community investments help protect public health, support local communities and businesses and keep Wyoming's water systems running strong.

What do your local taxes support?

In Wyoming, Fire and EMS departments help keep communities safe by responding to fires, medical emergencies and other critical situations. This is especially important in rural areas, when help can be miles away.

The General Fund, supported by sales and property tax, helps local governments and special districts provide the vehicles, equipment, facilities and trained personnel needed to respond when emergencies happen.
