Our team couldn't let this moment pass without shedding some light on what Josh Fowler was able to accomplish this past weekend. We have been working hard to get him in the Modified. In true racing fashion, we stumbled into several problems along the way and challenges that could have derailed us or even stopped us from getting Josh on the track, but that is what defines this team. We don't quit or back down from a challenge, We were all determined to make it happen, and that is exactly what happened.

The first practice of the day, Kyle strapped in to shake the car down and make sure everything was solid. With the car showing great speed right off the trailer it would be the fastest in that practice. We would send Josh out for his first time in the car for the second practice and with the coaching from one of the most talented spotters in our sport, Posey coached him through the laps and Josh would find himself as the top of the leaderboard, where he would take it one step further and claim the top spot in qualifying with a 16.9! With a 35 lap feature he quickly made it known that he was there to do one thing, and that was win. With only falling back to second, to quickly run the leader back down to reclaim the top spot and the checkered flag.

Thank you to everyone who came on board to make this happen for our team and family. Josh has poured so much of himself into our dad's racing and Kyle's program, It was a full circle moment to be able to strap him in and send him out to race. Beyond proud of what we were able to accomplish and now we will shift the focus back to Langley Speedway with our #5 TonMar Engineering Modified.

07.30.22 LANGLEY SPEEDWAY RECAP:

Qualified: 8th
Race 1: 10th
Race 2: 4th

The KFR team went into race day on Saturday, hoping that all bad luck would be worked out and the team was beyond ready for things to simply just go right at the track. From motor issues to electrical issues, it felt like if it could go wrong, it was going to go wrong for KFR. When Kyle was asked his thoughts on the season so far, "Honestly, it has not started the way we hoped or even planned but that's racing. I'm thankful to have the team and partners behind me that make giving up impossible. We have taken every obstacle thrown at us and worked harder to overcome it." It was this mentality that lead his team to thru yet again another troublesome night at the track.

Practice showed that the team was in the right direction and the driver backed it up at qualifying. Starting race one in 8th, Kyle would have thirty laps to work his way to the front. Ultimately, he would not find his way to the front due to the hub assembly coming apart and bad luck showing up, again. The team quickly got to work assessing the damages and coming up with a plan to get it fixed to avoid missing the next race.

Race two would be a shake up with a top 8 invert, KFR would start p10 and unable to take the cone the entire race due to not completing the required number of laps in the first race. This penalty would mean that the driver would have to charge hard to make every lap count to get through the field. That's exactly what Kyle did, finishing the race in 4th place. Bringing home the first top 5 of the season, and what we all hope is the beginning of a new chapter for this team.

HAPPY RACE DAY FANS!

We're hoping we've officially shaken the bad luck we have had following us, and looking to turn the page and get results with this #5 TonMar Engineering Modified.

The entire KFR Team has been working extremely hard to make necessary changes and adjustments to find some more speed, while fixing some other mechanical issues that we experienced last race.

When Kyle was asked about how he was feeling about the race today he replied with, "Honestly, I'm just looking forward to getting back in the car and get racing. I know we have a competitive car, we just have to get all of the pieces together and have some luck on our side. I know with this team, giving up is not an option so it's not a matter of if we get it together, it's when we get it together. We're ready, and I'm excited to get back to work."
