The Piehouse Bakery founder qualified at the Arkansas Pie Festival in Cherokee Village and will represent Arkansas Oct. 15-18 in Indianapolis.

This is exactly the kind of local flavor we love — a pie that hides its best secrets under a cloud of whipped cream. Got a recipe like this in your back pocket? No actual possum was harmed in the making of this pie.

This Arkansas original hides a pecan shortbread crust, cream cheese, and rich chocolate under a cloud of whipped cream. It “plays possum” by hiding all the good stuff underneath.

The Arkansas Pie Festival, a returning Official WFC Qualifying Event, delivered a record-setting celebration of baking talent this year with 100 pies entered from across the Natural State. From timeless classics to bold, creative flavor combinations, the competition showcased the incredible passion and skill of bakers at every level. 🧑‍🍳

Let’s be honest… the pies get the spotlight, but the volunteers make the whole thing happen. 🥧

Behind every check-in table, pie box, race start, and smiling face was a volunteer making sure everything ran smoothly (and that no one ate all the pies before judging).

We had record attendance this year, and it wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Thank you for showing up, jumping in, and making Pie Fest better every single year.

Y’all showed UP this year. With 100 pies from across Arkansas, the 2026 baking competition was our biggest and toughest yet. From classic flavors to creative showstoppers, this was truly a record-breaking year.

From our youth bakers to home chefs to commercial pros, this year’s talent was unmatched. Arkansas, you’ve officially raised the bar (and maybe our blood sugar).

Thank you to every baker who entered, every judge who deliberated, and every attendee who helped us crown these winners.
