A morning moment from the unglamorous life of a beekeeper… Who needs glamour when you’ve got such good flavor! (today I used our Coffee Bean Infused honey to make a refreshing iced coffee) 😄☕️🧊🍯
PSA: Keep cool today folks, it’s going to be another HOT one in the northeast - stay hydrated, wear a hat, and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Goooood morning. It is.
Lots of clover, lots of flight traffic, lots of sunshine for the bees. (Lots of sunscreen and water for the humans too!) We’re enjoying the warmth at least for a few days until we drop back into cold rainy weather again…

As beekeepers, we work hard to try and manage colonies during swarm season (a natural phenomenon that usually happens around May in our region), to split them and add more boxes to our hives in order to prevent them from leaving in search of a bigger space.
So it’s always nice when they handle it themselves, and also stay in our yard! (as far as I could tell this was not a swarm from one of our existing colonies, so it’s likely a new colony found its way here from the forest nearby).
Welcome, ladies 🐝

There’s our Quality Inspector, making sure our pure beeswax candles are up to s***f. 😄🐝

Hummmm…. You never know what each day will bring. I’ve always kind of imagined hummingbirds as little spirits who check in on us from time to time, and was so relieved that Big O was able to bring this little one back to life after it must have fallen from its nest or just gotten too cold too fast. See you around… hopefully.

My children will tell you that I don’t believe in only one day a year to celebrate your mother, it should be every day of the year 😘
But if you want to take advantage of this gorgeous sunny day to get outside, stroll around the City of Love and visit an amazing spring Art Bazaar at Cherry Street Pier, I’m just sayin it could be a great way to spend the day!
We, and loads of other super amazing artists and crafters will be here all day 11am-5pm.

Our Strawberry Matcha Honey is baaaack!
🍯🍓🍵
It’s a celebration of spring - using only 3 natural ingredients to bring you big flavor: the sweetness of honey, the earthiness of green tea, and the slightly tart freshness of strawberries are a match(a) made in heaven 😍
Use it to make a hot tea or latte, pour it over ice for an afternoon refresher, add smashed strawberries for extra flavor and fun - or, most likely, straight from the spoon 🥄 we know you’re going to love it!
Available online on our website and we’ll have it at all upcoming markets (we only made a small batch though, so get yours while they last)

One berry, two berry, a forest full of blueberry!
Now that the maple, black cherry and sassafras trees in our (South Jersey) backyard forest have finished blooming, a bright green layer of foliage has appeared just above ground level, meaning that the wild berry blossoms are the next source of food for our honeybees and other wild pollinators to forage on. Highbush blueberries, hillside blueberries, huckleberries, dewberries and how-do-you-do berries (ok maybe that last one isn’t a real species 🤪🫐), are all starting to blossom now.
So when you see that our NJ honey is much darker and has a totally different flavor profile than our Elkins Park/Glenside PA honey (see the difference in pic 3!) you’ll know why! Try them both and let us know what you think🍯✨

Our Black Sesame Honey is super versatile - use it in drinks, on toast, with fresh fruit or cheese plates. Yesterday I decided to try it in a banana bread and oh yes… it was a hit!
Clearly I’m not great at filming a recipe in progress 😜 but it was fast and easy to make, and the black sesame honey added a delicious twist. How will you use it?
