HOPE Run 5K Hope Run 5K raises awareness and funds for King's Home, a local non-profit providing homes for abused youth, women and children in Alabama.

King’s Home seeks to serve and glorify God by providing Christ-centered homes and services in which compassion and competence combine to meet the needs of women, children and families.

508 residents served in 2015. Who We Serve:

King’s Home serves youth, women, mothers and children seeking refuge, hope and help from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness and other extreme and difficult conditions and circumstances. The program operates 22 Christ-centered homes in four counties. Along with the opportunity for spiritual development, we teach necessary skills and provide tangible services to help our residents heal from their devastating pasts, break the cycle of abuse, build healthy relationships and become independent, productive members of our community. Youth Program / The King’s Ranch:

Serving boys and girls, ages 10 to 21.
12 residential youth homes on two campuses. Primary referral sources are the Department of Human Resources or private placements.
98% have been abused.
75% are classified with severe behavioral problems.
90% arrive at least one grade level behind, and some as many as three grade levels. Tangible services to assist youth include social skills, education, employment and independent living skills. The average length of stay is two years. Approximately 75% of our youth come from Jefferson and Shelby counties. Women, Moms and Children / Hannah Homes

Serving women and moms with children escaping domestic violence.

10 residential group homes in three counties. Referrals received from churches, courts, law enforcement, other programs, mental health and DHR. Tangible services to assist moms include domestic violence counseling, parenting skills, substance abuse classes, education, employment, housing and childcare. A structured program lasting for up to two years. Hannah Home Shelby County opened in 2007 and serves up to 80 moms and children. To date, all Hannah Homes are 100% funded by private gifts.
