We have screened this film various times in different cities since I first became appalled by its subject. Bringing attention to this issue of children being charged as adults in many cases that I thought was ridiculous was a top priority, which led me to become an advocate. I pushed hard, then heard that reform was happening and I thought things would improve significantly. However, a recent discussion taught me that much more work remains. This is one of the main reasons for revisiting this film to bring people together around the issue in Charlottesville.

The program that launched the International Indie short Film Festival returns as the Indie short Film Series showcases a selection of brief cinematic works. Featuring seven to nine short films and a panel discussion with visiting filmmakers, the goal of the series remains unchanged: to provide a platform for independent auteurs to share their art and stories. Back by popular demand, the series will return to Charlottesville three times a year, following this initial event. Audience members can vote for their favorite film, with the highest vote-getter earning the Audience Choice Award. $20, 7pm. Light House Studio: Vinegar Hill Theatre, 220 W.
