**An Update on Vintage Stock Car Laps at Spirit of Wilkes**
One of the things we've been especially excited about for Spirit of Wilkes was the opportunity to, once again, see vintage stock cars take laps around the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway.
Unfortunately, due to safety concerns raised by speedway leadership late in the planning process, the difficult decision had to be made not to move forward with on-track laps during this year's event.
While we're disappointed along with you, we also understand the importance of making sure these activities are conducted safely and in a way that delivers the experience these incredible cars, their owners and you, the vendors and spectators, deserve.
**There's plenty to be excited about!**
We're working with several vintage race car owners to have some of these amazing machines on display right on the track. Fans will still have the opportunity to get up close to these pieces of racing history and appreciate the cars that helped make North Wilkesboro Speedway legendary.
And we're not closing the door on future opportunities to see these cars in action! We're hopeful that with additional planning and coordination, we can make that happen at a future Spirit of Wilkes.
We appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and understanding. We're looking forward to a fantastic weekend celebrating automotive history, great cars, and the people who keep this hobby alive.
