HOT OFF THE PRESS - We are very excited to announce we are hosting the Winter Short Track Series at the Rock Hill Criterium Course and Mountain Bike Trails. The City of Rock has committed to building the mountain bike community a world class short track course, just like their other two-wheel facilities. While we have a super fun course planned for 2022, the final cours

e will not be completed until our 20th season in 2023. A five-race series that provides a unique and fun style of racing on a 1.5 mile trail combines elements of BMX, cyclo-cross and single-track...it's super fast and very spectator-friendly. Start 2 Finish and the City of Rock Hill are working hard to create a trail that's exciting for the race participants and spectators. Participants, based on category, will race 4 to 8 laps on the fast course. All of the events will be held at Rock Hill Criterium Course. We plan to have a food truck, an event photographer, and music at all of the events. NEW for 2022 HEATED food tent. TEAM COMPETITION - The Team competition will consist of team members across all categories earning points. The points will be derived from a new system called "Pack Points". Please share this with any family looking for a fun two-wheel camp in the Charlotte area for their their young shredders.

After a little nudge from several parents in my kiddos second grade class, Simon Keilty, Middle School teacher, and I are teaming up to host a really fun mountain bike camp that's part of the Charlotte Country Day School Summer Camps program here in Charlotte, NC. The camp is called MTB 101 – Wheelie Fun Camp and is scheduled for June 22 – 26. This camp is geared towards kids who can already ride a bicycle and are ready to take their riding to the next level….our local mountain bike trails. We plan to start the week in the parking lot of the Charlotte Country Day campus and spend the morning evaluating our campers’ abilities. In the afternoon, we plan to head over to McAlpine Park to ride the greenways and mix in some mountain bike trails. Each day, we will take the kids out to different parks around the area, testing our campers on more unique and age-appropriate challenging terrain. The kiddos will be riding singletrack mountain bike trails so a bike with knobby tires and working brakes is a must. Safety for our mountain bike campers is top priority so all must properly fit their bicycle.
Info for the camp:
- Campers must have a 20" wheel or larger mountain bike with knobby tires.
- Bicycles must be in proper working order with no flat spots or bald tires and working brakes.
- Everyone will need full-full finger gloves and a bike specific helmet that properly fits.
- Campers need to carry fluids so either a water bottle on the bike, - Campers will need to bring a tasty lunch to enjoy at the park we plan to visit each day.
Campers ages: 7 to 9 years old
Camp time: 9am to 4pm
Each day, campers will be dropped off between 8:30am and 9am. We will depart campus by 9:15am. We typically arrive back to campus between 3:30pm and 3:45pm with pick up starting at 3:45pm at Charlotte Country Day School on Carmel Rd. For the camp, we will have a cargo truck for bike storage. Bikes can be dropped off on Monday morning and returned at the end of camp on Friday, so parents will not have to carry bikes back and forth each day.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected].
For more information or to register, visit the Charlotte Country Day School summer camp website. www.charlottecountryday.org/summer
This camp is capped and will fill up so don’t wait to register.
Thanks so much!

Greetings two-wheel friends!!

It’s time to roll this Sunday, February 8. Looks we will finally be able to mix it up again on the big bad Short Track at Renaissance Park with the 2026 KASK Winter Short Track Series p/b Audi Charlotte and CITGO Fueling Good. Race #2 is set to go on Sunday so spread the word to all your friends and family!

The final four races in the series will be held on February 8, 14, 15, and 22. Don’t forget, if you happen to have missed this first race and you are fighting for a podium spot, one of the final four races will be double points for the individual and team competition.

If you haven’t had a chance, check out the photography from Pisgah Paparazzi Stephanie does an amazing job of capturing the fast two-wheel action. Below is one of the sweetest pictures we've seen! Love this!

Well two-wheel friends, unfortunately it looks like Gianna's going to be a pain in the buttocks and cause us to once again postpone Winter Short Track Series race #2 currently scheduled for Sunday, Feb 1. The forecast is continuing to show we are going to get substantial snow, cold and super windy weather over the weekend. Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation hasn't officially closed the parks yet but based on our conversation, it sounds like it's going to happen soon.

We put out a survey on social media and received lots of great feedback both on the post and directly. We are trying our absolute best to not conflict with other events and get all five races knocked out. Below is the newest schedule! YES, you ready it correctly. It's time to double up on February 14 and 15.

Race #2 - Feb 8
Race #3 - Feb 14
Race #4 - Feb 15
Race #5 - Feb 22

We understand the double up makes it difficult for some but based on the feedback, it impacts the least. The one direct group it does impact are our local bike shops who come out and support the event. Hopefully some, if not most, are able to send out their staff who want to come mix it up.

Alright folks, we need your input and feedback. Please share this post with all of your two-wheel friends.

As of Wednesday evening, the Short Track race for February 1 is still currently rolling as scheduled. Our local forecast is staying pretty consistent with super cold temps and precipitation of some sort on Friday night and all day Saturday. If the current forecast comes to fruition, I've been told by Mecklenburg County they will close the parks again this weekend. Even if they don't close the parks and we receive precipitation on Saturday, the parking lot at Renaissance Park would be treacherous on Sunday. The trails may be frozen and OK to rip but the parking lot could be a huge liability.

Input needed IF we do postpone.......
How many of you would be interested in doubling up for a big bad race finale weekend on February 21 and 22?

Who all is planning to do the Uwharrie MTB Challenge on Feb 21?

When does the NICA season kick off?

How many people are hitting the enduro events 21/22? Anything else on the two-wheel calendar close by?

Who would potentially rather push to March 1 (if it's even possible with P&R)?

Thoughts or input on the double?
Share this with all of your two-wheel friends.
