💔 Why I Keep Fighting for Our Small-Town Theater 🎬
People ask why I keep pouring my own money into this place — why I keep “taking that risk” of mixing business and personal finances just to keep it alive. The truth is, I know the risks. If it fails, I go down with it. Everything I’ve worked for personally is on the line.
But here’s the thing: this theater saved me long before I ever tried to save it. I owe it a fighting chance.
Growing up, the theater was my escape. My family went to see movies every weekend — it didn’t matter what was playing. We came to laugh, cry, dream, and feel something. Back then, this was how we connected — to stories, to each other, to hope.
And that’s still what this place is. It’s not just a building with ridiculously comfortable seating and amazing popcorn. 😊 It’s a place where family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers sit side by side and share something real. That kind of connection is rare now — and we can’t afford to lose it.
We’re not a corporate chain. We’re a small-town, family-run theater fighting to keep a piece of history — and heart — alive. Costs keep rising, but we’ve worked hard to keep prices low so families can still afford a night out together. For many teens, this is one of the few safe, positive places left to go and that matters.
Through repairs, COVID, slow movie releases, strikes, and delays, we’ve kept showing up — because our community needs this theater, and honestly, I do too.
If this theater disappears, it’s not just a business that closes. It’s the memories. The laughter. The first dates. The family traditions.
And the best popcorn in Michigan!!
Streaming might be convenient, but it can’t replace what happens inside a theater. The shared laughter. The gasps. The quiet moments. The joy of watching something together. This is one of the last truly distraction-free spaces left — a place to be present, together.
If you believe small-town theaters still matter — if you’ve ever had a memory here — please keep supporting us. Come see a movie. Bring your family. Buy the popcorn. Buy gift cards for yourself or for Christmas gifts. And if you own a business, consider advertising with us. Theaters are holding strong, but the smaller theaters can some times get forgotten in this busy world. Sharing our posts truly helps remind people we are here.
Every person who walks through these doors helps keep the lights on — not just for the next show, but for the next generation who’ll fall in love with the magic of the movies.
❤️ Let’s keep the magic alive — together.
