Maxson Associates Innovative products to deliver safe, flexible, spaces. In 1976, Max sold his stock to his partner to form Maxson and Associates, Inc.

Here at Maxson, we have a long history spanning over six decades of successfully providing innovative products that deliver unique solutions. Our products provide wide span openings that maintain life safety code compliance, create flexible and reconfigurable spaces, and provide functional support through security and environmental control. Founded originally in 1955 as the Maxson-Betts company, E.W. “Max” Maxson and his business partner established a foundation of assisting architects during the design phase of the project while faithfully executing the delivery and installation of the products as designed. The company originally sold just doors and windows but quickly added specialty products like rolling steel doors and loading dock equipment over the next 20 years. in order to serve his architectural and general contractor clients better and create a path for succession. Max lead the company through continued growth until his retirement in 1988. Since then, Maxson and Associates has continued to thrive under the leadership of Max’s son, Bill, expanding its offering into space management and life safety products that complement its traditional product offering while greatly increasing its service business. Maxson remains a partner to architects and interior designers as full service, knowledgeable product representatives, ensuring the careful execution of their design through dependable construction execution and teamwork with the General Contractor. Every effort at Maxson is focused on a solid client experience, down to the day-to-day operation by the facility owner throughout the life cycle of the product. The options and capabilities offered today are unmatched by its competitors, and sets the Maxson team in a class of their own.

A strong partnership is always worth celebrating.

Cathryn Wickerham and John Schuster recently hosted a happy hour with our friends at LS3P Charlotte. It was a chance to step away from project schedules, reconnect in person, and celebrate a long-standing relationship with LS3P teams across the Carolinas.

We are grateful for the people and partnerships that make this industry such a connected community. There is always room at the table for another good conversation.

If your firm would like to host a future Maxson happy hour or lunch-and-learn, let us know where we should go next.

Survey Expertise That Prevents Bigger Installation Problems Later

Good operable partition installations depend on more than product selection. They also properly coordinating a custom manufactured and designed product to fit the constructed space. That is why surveys matter and are central to the services Maxson offers.

During a recent site visit, Russell Tucker was reviewing the steel beam at a location where a Modernfold, Inc operable partition will be hung. During fabrication, the steel beam was punched to allow our installers to attach track, but the holes had gotten off from template Maxson's project managers issued with submittals. Instead of letting detail hinder installation progress, Russell used the visit to explain what needed to be corrected so the installation can commence.

That kind of field expertise protects schedules, reduces avoidable rework, and reinforces the value of having the PM team and the field team aligned. It is one more example of how Maxson supports projects before the product ever reaches the opening.

Low bid does not mean full service: Maxson will ensure the product is properly coordinated, the site prepared, to deliver on a fantastic installation.
