Twenty years of early mornings, finish-line tears, high-fives, sore legs, shared dreams, life saving heroics, brave National Anthem singers and that indescribable feeling when Charlevoix comes alive on race day.
As we celebrate this milestone during the season of gratitude, we can’t help but look back with full hearts. For two decades, this marathon has been more than a race — it has been a gathering place, a tradition, and a reminder of everything we have to be thankful for.
We’re thankful for the runners who trust Charlevoix with their goals…
The volunteers who show up with unmatched joy and generosity…
The families and friends who line the streets…
And the local community that has embraced this event year after year.
We’re thankful for breathtaking sunrises over Lake Michigan, for every mile shared, for every finish-line story that has inspired us, and for the countless moments of courage, connection, and celebration.
Most of all, we’re thankful for 20 years of YOU — the people who make this race what it is.
Here’s to gratitude for the past, excitement for the future, and twenty beautiful years of memories that will carry us into the next chapter.

The 19th Annual Charlevoix Marathon was one for the books.
We kicked off the day with record crowds, high energy, and ideal running conditions—before Mother Nature decided to throw a little bit of everything at us. From sunshine to sideways rain, thunder, and even hail, runners powered through the most intense weather we’ve seen in our 19-year history.

And they did it with grit, heart, and some very wet shoes.

To every athlete who showed up ready, to the volunteers who never flinched, and to the spectators who cheered through it all—thank you. You reminded us exactly what this event is about.

We’re proud of every mile run, every hand high-fived, and every story created on the course today. Here’s to making year 20 even more legendary (and dry).
