International Cowpea Festival and Cook-off Join us on Sept. 12, 2026 for a day filled with food, music, crafts and fun in Charleston, TN! A detailed schedule of events will be available soon.

Come on out to the International Cowpea Festival & Cook-off for a day filled with food, music and fun. The second Saturday in September marks the date for the festival with the funny name. Listen to live music throughout the day, taste the professional chef’s culinary creations and vote for your favorite and stroll through the marketplace where you will find handmade arts and crafts. There will al

so be food vendors and a heritage area to share other parts of Charleston’s story such as Cherokee, Civil War and Wild River history. A photo contest prior will be held prior to the festival and the winners will be announced on stage the day of the festival. Check out the website for information on entering the photo competition. Congratulations, Suzy Bogguss Music!🎉

We’re thrilled to celebrate the news that Suzy Bogguss has been invited to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry!

During a special moment at the Opry, Kathy Mattea surprised Suzy mid-performance of “Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses," joined by Terri Clark and Trisha Yearwood, with the invitation of a lifetime. What an incredible honor!

We were blessed to welcome Suzy as the headliner for the International Cowpea Festival & Cook-off in both 2012 and again in 2022, and we couldn’t be prouder of this well-deserved recognition.
