Thank you for joining us for our second annual Miles for Michael 5.12K. Whether you joined us in person or virtually, we are grateful for you and proud of your accomplishment.

Sunday morning's run/walk was a joyful way to remember Michael at one of his favorite places, Charles Towne Landing. While Michael ran and walked all over the world, each May, he celebrated his birthday here with the Race the Landing 5K.

The Leibowitz and Engel families, along with our run/walk committee, thank you so much for reflecting on our memories with Michael this weekend.

It's Throwback Thursday!

Only a few more days to go until we're back at Charles Towne Landing running in memory of Michael. The park was his favorite local place to run, and it's the perfect spot for us to remember him and invest in our next generation.

This April, we’re honoring the legacy of Michael Leibowitz.

After losing Michael in 2024 in a plane crash, we wanted to find a way to carry forward something he cared deeply about: aviation, service, and helping other people rise. Flying was a huge part of his life for more than 50 years, and he believed strongly in pilot education, safety, and opening doors for the next generation.

So all month long, Katsubo will donate $1 from every frozen lemonade sold to support a student pilot scholarships at Charleston Southern University through the Michael W. Leibowitz Family Fund. Michael established this scholarship when he was still alive for future pilots. This helps his family carry it forward.

This is about more than a drink special. It’s about legacy.

Our state parks- including Charles Towne Landing - are closed today. But we're thankful (and maybe a little jealous) of the park managers and their families who live there.

You can't beat a delicious Cinnabon after a run/walk! We appreciate our runner and friend, Todd Miller of Cinnabon, for providing the buns for our January 1 Pajama Run 5K.
