Lowcountry Splash 20th Annual Lowcountry Splash. 2.4 and 6 mile open-water swim Although this is a competitive swim, there is a good cause that benefits as well.

This 2.4 mile open water swim (same as the IronMan Triathlon) and the 6 mile will take place in the Charleston Harbor. Swimmers will start at Hobcaw Yacht Club for the 2.4 and on Daniel Island for the 6 mile, swimming along the Mount Pleasant shoreline, under the New Cooper River Bridge, passing the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier and finish at the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Center. Proceeds

from the Lowcountry Splash benefit the Logan Rutledge Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization. The non-profit 501 C3 organization supports Lowcountry Aquatic Project Swimming LAPS, a learn-to-swim program that teaches 1,700 K-1st graders in some of Charleston County School Districts lower socioeconomic schools. LAPS provides all swim instruction, transportation, swim aids and pool time for free to these children.

That’s how long you have to prepare for one of the most extraordinary swims in the Southeast.

On June 13th, you’ll enter Charleston Harbor and under the Ravenel, swim past the USS Yorktown, and finish at Patriots Point — with the tide pushing you the whole way.

This is the 25th Annual Lowcountry Splash. South Carolina’s premier open water swim race. And registration is open right now.

2.4 Mile or 6 Mile. $90. Same finish line. Same harbor. Same feeling when you tap that board and realize what you just did.

We’re counting down the hours and can’t wait to see you all this weekend!

To help you prepare, here’s some important information:

**RACE PACKET PICKUP:**

* **Date:** Friday, May 23rd
* **Time:** 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
* **Location:** 1341 Old Georgetown Rd, Suite C, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464

**RACEDAY - Saturday, May 24th:**

* Please note that parking at Patriots Point will be a little different this year. Keep an eye out for our signs that will guide you to the designated areas.

**BUSES & ARRIVAL AT THE START:**

* Buses will begin running at 5:45 AM. If you are participating in the 6-mile swim, it’s especially important to arrive early as you’ll be starting first.
* Once you reach your starting location, please be sure to check in with our volunteer team.
* If you couldn’t make it to the packet pickup on Friday, don’t worry! Your race packet will be waiting for you at the start.

And finally, to celebrate your amazing swim, please join us for the **AFTER PARTY & AWARDS CEREMONY**! We’ll have music, food, drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere. This will take place at the same location as packet pickup.

We are just over 1 week until the 24th annual Lowcountry Splash and the things are heating up! Today we are expecting 95 degree temperatures...so the water temperature is going up up up.
Please be prepared to hydrate well the morning of the swim. We will have water and powerade available at both the 2.4 and 6 mile start sites. As well we will have water at the finish. Be prepared as it looks like the water temperature is going to zip up above 80 degrees.

We are still working on the parking at Patriots Point. The previous parking lot is no longer available and there is a new parking lot past the Yorktown to the right side after you pass the wooded area. We may shift that somewhat...but either way...plan on parking at Patriots Point just in a little different location.

The Lowcountry Splash is a charitable event and all money raised goes to LAPS (Lowcountry Aquatics Project Swimming) a free learn to swim program we are trying to restart in the coming year in the Charleston County School District. The program ran for almost 10 years and we were teaching 1700 children free swim lessons however since covid we haven’t operated the program. The target is to restart the 2025-2026 school year. You can make donations at SCLAPS. Thanks for any donation you can make and know it is for a great cause.

Hello Lowcountry Splash swimmers.
We are so excited for the 24th annual Splash on Saturday May 24th!
Here’s some things to know:

There is no parking at 2.4 mile start at Hobcaw Yacht Club the morning of the event and there is limited parking that will mostly be for volunteers working the 6 mile start on Daniel Island.  It’s best if you park at Patriots Point and we will bus you to your respective starts.  That way your car is waiting for you when you complete the swim.

Packet pick up on Friday (23rd) starts at 12:00 and runs to 7 p.m.  Not mandatory to pick up your packet as we will have those at the start if you can’t make it in Friday.  It’s helpful if you can make it as it expedites things on the morning of the race.  The address is:   1341 Old Georgetown Rd Suite C Mt Pleasant, SC 29464

Please plan on attending the post race awards party.  We will have some great food and drinks, music and the awards ceremony.  The awards party is at the same location above for packet pick up and will start immediately after the swim.  So when you’re done swimming drive the few miles for a great time!!

We will be putting out more info this week and next...so be on the lookout for social media posts and emails.
