Thank you to all who attended today’s ceremony honoring Charles City's designation as an official Home Base Iowa Community! Home Base Iowa is a statewide initiative designed to integrate veterans into the workforce and offer valuable incentives to veterans who move to the area.

Through Floyd County's Home Base Iowa program, qualified veterans moving to the area can receive a $10,000, 0% interest housing loan provided by the Floyd County Board of Supervisors and administered by the CCADC, repayable over 60 months.

A special thank you to Timothy Fox, CEO of the Charles City Area Development Corporation (CCADC), and Tyler Trout, City Administrator for the City of Charles City, whose leadership spearheaded this effort for our community.

Congratulations to the City of Charles City which was designated as a Home Base Iowa Community today! Home Base Iowa is a veteran-focused program through the State of Iowa and Iowa Workforce Development partnering with Iowa communities to provide opportunities and assistance to Iowa Veterans. Floyd County became a designated Home Base Iowa community in 2014 and provides funding for a $10,000 - 5 year housing loan at 0% to eligible Floyd County Veterans purchasing their first home (or who have not owned a home for at least 5 years) for a primary residence purchase, with some restrictions. This program is administered by the Charles City Area Development Corporation. The designation of Charles City itself as a Home Base Iowa community further strengthens the support and commitment to veterans in Floyd County.

GOLD certificated 🏅 The Avenue of the Saints site in Charles City is now GOLD certificated—a designation in the Iowa’s Certified Sites program given to sites that have taken additional steps toward further readying the site!

And did we mention it's the first GOLD certified site in Iowa?!

Charles City continues to demonstrate strong support for business and industrial growth. Now, this new designation further strengthens the 75‑acre development park’s position to attract investment to rural Iowa.
