I'm a very private person but I feel like I need to voice this. Since my Daddy passed away almost 2 months ago, there's a lot of emptiness inside of me. There was already so much trauma from my dad being absent in my childhood, we connected in 2008 and after some years our relationship dissolved. I was hurt because I felt abandoned, twice and I been carrying this weight for 41 years and it's suffocating. After the funeral and family gathering, the calls stop. Nobody has checked on me and I don't expect that from anyone because I'm not special but the people that love you or my family I expected different. I never got to ask my Daddy the simple question of WHY? I love him tho, I sincerely do. I think therapy has to be an option at this point. I'm hurt, angry, sad and confused but I put all of that to the side because I still have to be a Father, a son, a brother and a friend...To my sister Kenya, thank you for sharing what you have about my Dad. She's done her best to fill in the blanks and I appreciate that. This is my first time speaking out about this. I'll figure it out.
