Iberica Early Music Festival IBERICA Festival dedicated to present performances of works by composers from Spain, the Diaspora and the New World. September 3rd, 2016.

Activities are currently and indefinitely cancelled due to the pandemic. IBERICA 2016, now in Chapel Hill NC, will present El Fuego Early Music Ensemble performing a zarzuela (music play) by Sebastian Duron entitled "Salir El Amor del Mundo" or "Love is out!" IBERICA 2013 continues this August in its second edition with early music from Spanish Medieval and Baroque sources. This Festival will feature rarely heard works by Antonio de Literes and Juan Manuel de la Puente as well as a cantata in Spanish by G.F.Handel. Medieval music from "Las Huelgas" codex and other sources. August 23rd & 24th at St. John the Evangelist church at 35 Bodwoin street in Boston. IBERICA 2012 begins this August with hot, humid, rocking and rolling early music from Spain, Portugal, the Diaspora and the colonies of the New World. This Festival will feature rarely heard works by great composers from the 17th and 18th centuries including Marin, Duron, Nebra, Literes, Gargallo and Castellanos. Love triangles from Opera and Zarzuela scenes, songs about Cupid, Sephardic liturgy and a cantata for Hoshana Rabbah, and the first oratorio in the Spanish language about the story of Joseph and his brothers. Here you can hear the ancestors of Latin music. From August 18 through 29 at churches and synagogues in Boston.

Gail Ann Schroeder (viola da gamba), Pat Petersen (recorder) and Douglas Young (winds) join the faculty for the Iberica Early Music Festival 2016 workshop! A weekend of classes, lectures and concert on Spanish Renaissance and Baroque music for all ages and levels, September 3rd and 4th.
