As we reflect on this year’s Juneteenth celebration, our hearts are filled with gratitude. While the rain may have made an appearance, it could not dampen the spirit, resilience, and unity of our community. In fact, it reminded us exactly what Juneteenth represents—perseverance, strength, and the ability to overcome obstacles together.
We want to extend our deepest appreciation to every single person who came out to support this event. Whether you attended for a few minutes or stayed throughout the day, your presence helped make this celebration meaningful and special. Seeing families, friends, neighbors, and visitors come together to honor our history, celebrate our culture, and support one another was truly inspiring.

To our vendors, performers, speakers, and entertainers, thank you for sharing your talents, products, and passion with us. You helped create an atmosphere filled with joy, education, culture, and celebration.
To our volunteers and committee members, there are simply not enough words to express our gratitude. Countless hours were spent planning, organizing, promoting, setting up, and adapting throughout the day. Your hard work behind the scenes did not go unnoticed. Even when faced with unexpected weather, you continued to serve our community with dedication, flexibility, and positive attitudes.

This beautiful piece of art is more than just a mural—it is a lasting tribute to a remarkable part of Centralia’s history and a symbol of pride for our community. We are honored to have this masterpiece in our city, and we are grateful for the talent, creativity, and passion that brought this vision to life. The unveiling was truly one of the highlights of our celebration, and its impact will be felt for generations to come.

Juneteenth is more than an event—it’s a celebration of freedom, progress, culture, and hope. We are honored to have shared this day with all of you and are already looking forward to building an even bigger and better celebration in the years to come.
