About Our Artists
John S. Dimick
John is a former world-class marathoner. A 1984 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee at UVM, where he earned three varsity letters in cross country and two each in indoor and outdoor track, he has been making art for the last few decades.
Dimick qualified for the Olympic trials in 1976, 1980, and 1984. He finished 13th in 1978 and 26th in 1983 at the Boston Marathon, with a time of 2:15:23. In 1979, he qualified for the Olympic trials with a 2:16:31 clocking at the Nike-Oregon Track Club Marathon. His best time ever, however, came in 1979 at the Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans, where he ran a blazing 2:11:53, at the time the ninth-fastest time ever in the United States and the 18th best in the world. He excelled internationally as well, placing second in the Copenhagen Marathon in 1981, and fourth at the Berlin Marathon that same year.
Ranza Clark
Ranza is a retired middle distance runner from Canada, who won the gold medal in the women's 1.500 metres at the 1983 Pan American Games. She represented her native country at the 1984 Summer Olympics, finishing in 15th place in the women's 800 metres. Ranza creates a variety of artistic expressions in Gabriola, BC.
While at the University of Oregon she ran 2:01.7 for 800 meters (7th all-time) and 4:07.50 for 1500 meters (3rd all-time). In three NCAA appearances, she garnered six championship medals.
Andy DiConti
Andy garnered tremendous success while at La Canada HS winning the 1980 3200 meters CA state championship. In addition to producing his own distinctive style of artistic works, he also teaches others to express their creative side in high school art classes.
He earned NCAA D-1 and D-2 All American status running for BYU and Cal Poly SLO in the early 80s. His lifetime PRs of 8:32.6 (2 miles), 13:57.6 (5000 meters), and 30:14 (10k roads) are quite impressive, and Andy continues to compete at the USATF National level.
Heather Johnson
Heather has been running long-distance since 2015. Since 2017, she has been competitive in local and regional races. A local running standout, she expresses her artistic side through her painting and music.
She won the 2018 Pear Blossom 10 mile (57:58); the 2020 Pear Blossom 10 mile (59:42); and won the inaugural Volkslaufe USATF Oregon Association 25k championship, and then defended her title in 2020 (1:36:41). She also has first place finishes in the Twin Peaks Trail 50k (5:58:32); the McKenzie River 50k (4:23:38); Prefontaine Memorial 10k (37:22); Siskyou Outback 15k (1:13:51); Siskyou Outback 50k (4:27:31); Lost Creek Trail 30k (2:16:28) She has a ten-mile time of 57:57; a half-marathon time of 1:17:53; and a 3:06:51 (BQ) at CIM Marathon while three months pregnant.
