Our annual Walk 'n Roll Parade of Superheroes is a fundraising event to raise money for the Asante Foundation. In January 2017, after a trip to the pediatrician and an emergency room visit at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, it was discovered that Clint had a mass on his liver. Clint and his family found out that he had Hepatoblastoma, liver cancer. After four rounds of chemotherapy, the mass
was not shrinking, so it was determined that Clint needed a liver transplant. In April 2017, Clint got his new liver, but still had to complete two final rounds of chemotherapy to ensure the cancer was gone from his body. Sadly, Clint faced side effects that his body couldn’t overcome, and passed peacefully in October 2017. He was 5 years old. Clint was a vibrant light, full of love for everyone and everything, and he was a superhero in his battle against childhood cancer. Unfortunately, childhood cancer is not rare. Clint's story is one of many, too many, where families' lives get turned upside down and ripped apart. So in honor of Clint, and inspired by his parents Ray and Mariah Later, the Walk n' Roll fundraising parade was created to put a spotlight on childhood cancer awareness and raise money for other superheroes experiencing childhood cancer. 100% of the proceeds and donations benefit pediatric oncology services at Asante here in the Rouge Valley. The first Walk 'n Roll parade was in October 2022 at Twin Creeks Park in Central Point, OR. We dressed up like superheroes, paraded around the park, and had a fantastic day all while raising $16,579! We plan to host this event annually, so be sure to join us each year! Some of us walk, some of us roll, and we all have fun! Donations can be made at: https://tpwalknroll.square.site/
