Attention Pavement Pounders,
Hard to believe race day is around the corner, but the Hill Country Halloween Half Marathon & 5k is primed and ready for you to shatter your previous running bests! We wanted to provide you with some important race information prior to race day. Please take the time to read through these key points so you can help us set a new PR for having you ready for race day.
Pre-Race Packet Pickup – This will take place on Friday, October 25, from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Cedar Park which is located at 1110 Discovery Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613.
You will need to show a valid ID to pick up your packet. When you show up, you will show us your registration confirmation or your ID and we will take it from there! You may pick up packets for other runners if you have a copy of their ID.
Race-Day Packet Pickup – You may also pick up your packets on race morning near the race start line at the HEB Center. Packet pick-up times on race morning are:
Half Marathon and 5k – 6:20 am – 7:15 am
Kids Marathon – 6:20 am – 8:50 am
Race Day Schedule of Events –
6:30 a.m. – Packet pickup on site
7:30 a.m. – Half Marathon race begins
7:40 a.m. – 5k race begins
9:00 a.m. – 5k Awards Ceremony
10:00 a.m. – Kids Marathon
10:10 a.m. – Half Marathon Awards Ceremony
Parking – There will be plenty of parking on site at the HEB Center. Please follow the signs to the designated parking areas and do NOT park in the runner lanes.
Kids Marathon – The Kids Marathon event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and the race course is roughly 1.2 miles.
Race Course - Please familiarize yourself with the race course. We will have the race clearly marked, but it is in your best interest to know where you're going. When running on race day, run straight unless you see signs directing you otherwise. Please be aware at all times as we cannot dictate what drivers do at every intersection. Please use caution and know your surroundings.
Also, please note that there is a split point in the race. At the split point, half marathon runners remain straight and 5k runners turn left. As the 5k runners start 10 minutes after the half marathon, there should be little confusion, but follow the signs and you will be fine.
Gels - There will be gels (shots) along the race course at the water station that is roughly at the midpoint of the race for the half marathon.
Timing Chip – The timing chip is a disposable chip on your race bib. Please make sure you wear the bib on the front of your shirt for it to read properly.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to email us. There is also additional information on the Race Details web site.
Thanks,
Hill Country Halloween Half Marathon Team
