The beautiful view out my windows onto the front lawn… wedding after wedding, love story after love story. ❤️

But it’s more than the view.

It’s the sound of vows being exchanged drifting through the windows. The laughter. The happy tears. The energy of love flowing across the lawn as family and friends sit together and witness two people choosing one another.

It fills my soul with so much love and gratitude knowing that people chose us to be part of one of the biggest days of their lives.

For all these years, I’ve watched people walk across this lawn and turn moments into memories—memories they’ll carry for a lifetime.

To have a little piece of our home become part of so many families’ stories…

I haven’t posted nearly as much about Wildwoods Venue & Farm — Hick’s Place this year.

Life had other plans for me.

Losing my father changed the rhythm of this year in ways I could never have prepared for. There were days when posting, promoting and talking about the venue simply wasn’t where my heart or energy could go.

But something beautiful happened anyway.

The calls kept coming.
The bookings kept happening.
And you kept showing up for us.

Since opening in 2013, we have shared so many incredible adventures with all of you. Weddings, celebrations, families, laughter, tears, dancing, late nights, beautiful sunsets and more memories than I could ever count.

And this year, when I wasn't able to give this place the attention I normally do, you carried us.

You recommended us.
You shared our name.
You told your friends.
You booked your celebrations here.
You continued believing in this crazy, beautiful place we created.

So when I say thank you, please feel those words as deeply as I mean them.

And when I say we love you, please know that too.

November starts our quiet season that gives us time to reset, recharge, deep clean the venue, work on projects and get everything ready to welcome all of you back again.

And hopefully it gives me a little time to get better about showing up here again too — sharing our news, sharing the beautiful things happening at Hick’s Place, and filling that calendar with even more celebrations and adventures.

After all these years, you continue to remind us that this place has never just been about a building, a farm or a venue.

It has always been about the people who fill it.

Thank you for carrying us through a year when I needed a little carrying.

Thank you for continuing to choose us.

Thank you for being part of this story since 2013 — whether you've been here from the beginning or you're just finding us now.

The love bug crew was out getting things ready for the wedding season over the last few weekends.

Kolt wouldn't stop to smile, he said no Gigi I'm working 😆 😂 😅 🤣 . Della is always ready for picture! 😆 🤣

The quiet of winter gives way today to something I love most—the sound of tires meeting the gravel drive, the first sign that life is returning for the 2026 season. Soon the air will be filled with laughter, smiles, stories, and the kind of joy that only comes when people gather in a place meant to hold memories. Excited to welcome our very first guests and begin another season of good times, connection, and moments that matter.

We open our space just a few weekends each month now, quietly, mostly through word of mouth. And every time you share us, speak our name, or send someone our way… please know how deeply grateful my heart is.

We’ve become a simple ma and pa place. The kids have grown, living their own lives, but they still find their way back here to help when they can. It’s a softer season… but one filled with meaning.
We don’t charge what we should. We never really have. We charge just enough to keep the lights on and the doors open—because what we offer was never meant to be just a service.
It’s a feeling.
It’s holding space for your once-in-a-lifetime moments…
the kind that turn into stories you tell for years to come.

Because in the end…
it’s not about remembering our name.
It’s about remembering the feeling of this place…
and knowing a piece of it lives on in you.

My love bug Della and I played with our shadows, planted some red clover, then my son and daughter in law helped me start getting things ready for the 2026 season.
