Would you run a theater and install seats, projectors, popcorn machines knowing parts were stolen from somewhere else? Nor would AMC show this AI 'film'. Once people get back to story telling orally, passing down fables and fairy tales from one generation to another, they will understand the human soul in animation.

AMC Theatres has opted out of screening the AI-generated short "Thanksgiving Day," which won a film festival contest whose prize involved showcasing the winner at cinemas across the U.S.

Congratulations to Red Rock Film Festival alum for their Oscar® 2026 nominations: Rose Byrne (2022 Nominee Special Jury Award: Best Acting in a Fiction Short for "Shark") and Nick Cave (Narrator and Composer of 2015 Selection "Prophets Prey".)
The Academy has nominated Rose Byrne for Actress in a Leading Role for "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You" and Nick Cave along with Bryce Dessner are nominated for Music (Original Song).
