The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo is honored to be recognized as the 2026 WPRA Breakaway Committee of the Year!
We’re proud of the hard work that goes into bringing breakaway roping to the Fair and grateful to our staff, Fair Board, volunteers, partners, contestants, and everyone who supports the event!

While most eyes are on the final world standings to see who will punch their ticket to the NFR, rodeo committees and contract personnel are eagerly awaiting the year-end awards. Their hard work behind the scenes keeps the sport alive all season long. As we close the book on the 2026 regular season, we officially kick off reward season in professional rodeo.

Douglas County youth interested in raising and showing livestock at the 2027 Douglas County Fair & Rodeo have an opportunity to get a L.E.G. Up Grant!

The Douglas County Fair Foundation Livestock Educational Grant Program helps make livestock projects more accessible by providing financial assistance and support to participating youth.

Applications are open now through Sept. 30. Learn more about the program and how to apply in the post below.

🎉 Congratulations to Our Junior Livestock Sale Exhibitors! What an incredible accomplishment! 🎉

The sale may be the moment we celebrate, but the achievement represents months of hard work, dedication, and commitment. From raising and caring for their animals year-round, to early mornings, long days, and countless hours spent preparing, these young exhibitors have put in the work every step of the way.

Then came Fair week—when all of that preparation came together in the show ring. Our exhibitors stepped into the ring with pride, confidence, and determination, putting their knowledge and skills on display.

But perhaps the greatest accomplishment is everything they have learned along the way. Through raising livestock, these young people have learned about responsibility, perseverance, patience, time management, sportsmanship, and the value of hard work—lessons that will stay with them long beyond the Fair.

To every exhibitor: Congratulations on a job well done! We are incredibly proud of you and all that you have accomplished. And to the families, mentors, leaders, and buyers who support these young people throughout the year—thank you for investing in the next generation.

Here’s to celebrating the hard work, the lessons learned, the memories made, and the accomplishments earned. You should be proud!
