We are so sorry to share that the 2026 Bridge of the Gods Run must be canceled due to circumstances outside of our control.
Due to a large landslide that has completely buried and removed access to a significant section of our course along the Historic Highway trail, we’ve been informed by Oregon State Parks and the Oregon Department of Transportation that the route will not be passable in time for this year’s event. The slide includes deep mud, rocks, and trees, and cleanup will also require ensuring the stability of the remaining hillside.
We have explored every possible alternative, and unfortunately, permitting will not be allowed and there are no viable options to safely move forward this year.
This event is incredibly special to us. We look forward to it every year and love seeing so many familiar faces. We know many of you feel the same, and we share in your disappointment.
We are beginning the insurance claim process. Once approved, refunds will be issued by the insurance company through the RunReg registration platform back to your original form of payment. Timing is estimated at approximately 2–3 months, and we truly appreciate your patience.
As a thank you for your understanding and support, all 2026 registered participants will receive a discount code to use toward the Columbia Gorge Marathon this year or any Breakaway Promotions event in 2027.
We are already planning for 2027 and continuing to work with the Cascade Locks community, Oregon State Parks, and ODOT to support restoration of the trail.
